The Powell Family

The Powell family came out in the rain on saturday but, we were lucky to get a break in the rain to shoot outside instead of the studio. I was reminded of how precious family pictures are while watching "Who do You Think You Are?" on nbc. It is the show where the stars are tracking their family tree. The few pictures they have are precious to them. Don't neglect having your picture taken. They are treasured for centuries.

Miranda and Ben are engaged!

Miranda and Ben are getting married! They met teaching at Neosho and all of their students are so excited for their upcoming marriage.

Khloe - the straight hair set!

Khloe came out the the studio for a short session with her straight hair! She totally ROCKED the magazine wall!

I loved the way these images looked together so I made a composite out of them!

Chandler is graduating!

We met Chandler downtown last week for some senior pics! The day before she had sprained her ankle so it was alittle interesting to move around considering she was on crutches. however we did get some great shots. i hope you are feeling better Chan!

Fabulous wedding kids!

We had a few minuted to focus on the ring bearer and flower girl and Sam and Shannons wedding. They were so funny .... and of course they were brother and sister and that made it even more fun! Enjoy the sneak peek.

a little behind the scenes

We thought we would give you a little behind the scenes into how we shoot. We use a variety reflectors and lights when needed. In this shot the reflector is providing a nice catch light in her eyes.

In this shot we were using a Speedlight shot through a diffuser to even out the light alittle. we used the light in this situation to create alittle drama as well as preserve some color in the windows behind her. The top image had two Speedlights one lighting her face and the other providing the rim light.
